What is time?

We divide the day into increments but are they real? In a day we have 24 hours, 60 minutes per hour, 60 seconds per minute; but it never feels the same. But logically, since they are the same measurements of time, they should be exactly the same.
But we all know that this isn't the case. The days drag recently, the second hand must be tired and the day just goes by with a slow crawl. For the past 6 months, time just flew by. Every second dripped with anticipation and carried me forward to the next time I would see her. Maybe it's just the time evening out - it's yin in yang. Since I sped up time, now I'm having to balance it back. My heart aches and my shoulders feel the weight of the world...

I've meditated on and off for several years but have been more diligent about my practice of late. Sat for a good half hour tonight - I find that it takes at least 10-15 minutes to "get into it." Thoughts bounced around my head initially and then suddenly it was completely peaceful and empty. I find it amazing how that happens. No poetic words to describe it, it just is.
